PRD: product requirements document before you build

A PRD (Product Requirements Document) is the discovery that turns an idea into a validated requirements document before any development. We interview stakeholders, prioritize features and deliver the PRD with a clickable prototype, scope and estimates. It can be used on its own, with another vendor, or feed the build with DENWARE.

Particularities

The deliverable is a document and a prototype

No software is delivered at this stage. We deliver a PRD with requirements, rules and acceptance criteria, together with a validated clickable prototype.

Stakeholder interviews

We listen to those who decide, those who use and those who operate. Each group's needs go into the document before any solution.

Explicit prioritization

Every feature is ranked by value and effort. The MVP is separated from what can wait, with the reason recorded.

Scope and estimates

The PRD comes with a closed MVP scope, a suggested technical architecture and estimates, so you can decide the investment with information.

Standalone or linked to the build

The PRD is yours: it can be used to get quotes from any vendor or move straight into development with the same team.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to hire DENWARE for development after the PRD?

No. The PRD is yours and can be used to get quotes from any vendor. If you continue with DENWARE, the same team carries what it learned into the build.

What is the difference between the PRD and Sprint Zero?

Sprint Zero is the first phase of a development project. The PRD is a discovery that can be hired on its own, focused on the requirements document and the prototype.

What do I get at the end?

The PRD with prioritized requirements and acceptance criteria, a validated clickable prototype, the MVP scope, a suggested technical architecture and the estimates.

Does my company own the PRD content?

Yes. All material produced belongs to the client, and we sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) whenever you ask.
